Nigeria is faced with a lot of developmental issues mostly affecting women and children in disadvantaged communities. For instance, recent data by the United Nation shows that Nigeria has over 20 million Out of School Children. These children lack access to an excellent education that will give them a successful future. Also, access to quality health remains a major problem for the poor especially indigent women and children living in underserved communities in across the various states in Nigeria.

The Goke Dele Foundation exists to change this narrative, break the cycle of ignorance and impoverishment which dwindles our national development and denies us the fulfilment of our vision for a better future.

We are happy to work with devoted volunteers who are willing to make a difference in the world. Volunteers are heroes and we value their contribution and support towards helping the foundation achieve its vision of creating an inclusive society for all to thrive. When you volunteer at the Goke Dele Foundation, you become part of our social change leader’s community made up of people who believe in creating a better future for all to thrive irrespective of gender, race or any other form of discrimination.

We make call for volunteers to support our projects, hence, volunteers are required to have some level of exposure and skills that can be enhanced while working with us. Our criteria for selecting volunteers include:

• Age limits and ranges: To ensure the required level of professional and personal competency, the minimum acceptable age for a position as a Volunteer with the Goke Dele Foundation is 18 years, with the understanding that candidates must demonstrate the required education level, relevant professional experience and requisite maturity, character and strengths needed for Volunteer assignments. 

• Education requirements: A Diploma, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree is required for most assignments (credentials will be requested).

• Professional experience requirements: Work experience requirements differ depending on the volunteer category and assignment. Prior volunteering and/or working experience is an asset. 

• Language requirements: Good working knowledge of at least one of the following languages: English & French

• Personal competencies: Volunteers must demonstrate a strong commitment to the values and principles of volunteering and respect for diversity. They should bring strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Volunteers should have the ability and willingness to work in a multicultural environment and to draw upon synergies between proposed solutions and local expertise. They must also be able to adjust to changing, and at times difficult, living and working conditions.
